    Default ScubaMagazine Group Trips?

Hello all out there in Diver-Land

We plan on having Official (what "office" exactly is that?!) ScubaMagazine.net Group Dive Trips on a regular basis in the near future.

Everyone has their pet-destinations, but I wanted to open a discussion with all to see where the interests lie.

We want to make sure on any trip that there will be photo and video opportunities in the dive destination to keep the photogs and videographers happy as clams, as we will do a HiDef video production out of it all.

I will group some good dive destinations based upon geography, and I would like others to add destinations that you suggest would be a good combination of dive value, opportunities for dive photos and video, and a place where you would like to go in the future on a group trip. If you could post what the attractions are to the particular area you suggest so we can see what the appeal is aside from the obvious.

Let us know if non-diving activities would be on your list, or at least a destination where you could bring a spouse/child/s.o. where non-divers are happy too.

Trips would probably be in the 7-8 day range or maybe 5 day range for Carribean trips.

I would suggest a trip to New Jersey the Wreck Valley. With over 2500 named wrecks and countless unknown ones there is plenty to keep a diver busy.

There are many species of marine life that are not found in tropical waters. There is an opprotunity for spearfishing if you like, and bagging a few bugs (lobster) is always good, especially considering New Jersey has open lobstering all year round for divers!!!! The wrecks and marine life covering them are a wonderful photo op. for photographers and videographers as well. And of course the wrecks, with so many there is something for everyone. From the shallow wrecks that can be reached from the beach to the Andrea Doria only reachable by boat and highly trained/skilled divers there is something for you.

Now, after your dive you can head to Atlantic City, America's Playground for 24 hour entertainment. There is the beach and boardwalk, the casinos known for their slots and table games, first rate shows and concerts and some of the best restraunts anywere. And don't forget the hookers, for those inclined.....Just Kidding LOL

With Atlantic City Airport only 15 minutes away and Philadelphia International airport only 1 hour away it is easy to get here. Speaking of Philadelphia, while you are here check out the wonderful museums that Philadelphia has to offer.

Now that is just off the top of my head, if anyone is interested I can find out and provide more info. There are also a few good local dive shops that can provide rental gear, air fills, etc. if needed.

What about the Caribbean (not that I'm being biased or anything...) -

Loads of choice as to which islands to go to. Good Viz all year round. Loads of aquatic life to see and keep the photographers and videographers happy.

Singapore Air does have sponsorships and promo airfares, but one of their rules and restrictions specifically prohibit sponsorship of triggerfish, and to be frank, I've had a bad experience with a Titan triggerfish that had a mean streak a mile wide. They're the most foul, cruel fish you'd ever laid eyes on!

Singapore is where we'll be stopping over for 10 hours on our way to Sulawesi, then it is Silk Air to Manado.
