Smile Hello from the mountains of Virginia

    =)

Happy New Year everybody! I'm Scott, nice to meet you..

I have a couple dozen dives, a set of kit I really like, some more toys on the way, and lots of ambition in diving.

I have an AAS in Computer and Electronic Technologies, and am attending ETSU majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies (concentrating in business and education). I served 5 years in the Navy, where I was qualified as a Hospital Corpsman, Field Medical Service Technician, and Biomedical Equipment Technician.

I am PADI certified OW, AOW, Nitrox, and Cavern,.. NAUI Intro to Cave, and will be taking Advanced Nitrox and MOD 1 for the COPIS Megalodon Rebreather starting January 25th ('07)

My goal for this year, is obviously to pass those two courses, but to also complete my Rescue and Divemaster courses, and finances permitting, Full Cave.

Below you'll find a list of my current and soon to arrive equipment, feel free to ask me any questions you may have about it. =)

For gear, I experimented a bit, and figured out a setup that works well for me.

For all my configurations, I use
Cressi Minima black skirt low volume mask
Omer Millenium free diving fins OR Scubapro Jet fins
    Freedom Plate
    Hog Harness
    DiveRite Z-knife shoulder mounted
DiveRite 10 watt HID Slimline cannister light
    UK eLED PLUS backup lights
Energizer E^2 2500 mah AA rechargeable batteries
    Poseidon Xstreme Deco regulator sets
    Oceanic Atom 3 gas computer
    Akona 5mm boots
    Omer 2mm gloves
Bare Velocity 5/4 full suit, 1mm hooded vest
Soon- a DUI 30/30 drysuit with rockboots and wrist zip seals

    For Single Tank:
    AL80
    OxyCheq 18# Travel Wing

    For Doubles:
    Pair of AL80's
    DiveRite Trek Wing
    Modified Freedom Plate

For Megalodon: (hasn't arrived yet.. so this is planned)
    AL19 Oxygen and Diluent Cylinders
single AL40 side mount for light bailout bailout
double AL80's sidemount for future cave diving
    Modified Freedom Plate
DiveRite Trek Wing (until I can get ahold of the OxyCheq 42# Vertex)

Take care and may all your wishes come true this year,

    Scott

Mendota?!?! I believe that's a left turn past the Holston bridges...

Howdy (former) neighbor...I'm originally from Lebanon/Abingdon... but living in SC now. I got into diving after I moved away.

Are there any good dive sites back home? I'm guessing they would all be altitude dives since even South Holston Lake is 1747 feet at full pool.
