Default What should the price on an Open Water Course be?

Knowing in the late 70's, an Open Water Scuba Course went for $130-190 dollars, what should fair prices be today?

    Why?

    Would $500 - $700 sound fair?

    Why?

Depends on the Market area, the demand, and competition! I know shops that sell their basic as low as $250.00 US Dollars, but you have to buy your gear or rent from them as well. I have seen and heard that "A new diver will spend between $1800.00 to $2700.00 to get into the sport including their cert." So most are packaged, but I agree with the above, there is a threshold amount just like Skiing, Bowling, Tennis, Biking, or most other sports including basic training! Hope this helps!?!?
