How to learn from other people's mistakes

Ok so everyone knows that a diving accident happnes by 'accident' - hence the term! And its true that in the last 10 or 20ish years we have come a long way in terms of diver safety.

But how can we help people learn and inform them about the details of specific dive accidents?

I ask this because if divers get this informatoin they will know how to respond in a certain senario - or even how to avoid the potential danger?
