Hi I am new to this (OW), but loving it more and more....Unfortunately the weather is freezing ... soooo while I wait for summer (or until I do my dry-suit course) I am beached...so while playing around I found your site, I love the info....I want to go pro so I will be grateful for any and all advice...

Going Pro is a huge adventure. Do you mean as a scientist, an explorer, filmmaker, or a scuba instructor? I learned to dive in a cold water climate. It requires that you learn to be a quiet, neutral, intuitive diver. Little viz teaches one to be confident...requires skills that will serve you well no matter your Pro choice. If you can go cold the warm water is heaven... Get to know a "good" dive shop. A place that makes you feel welcome with a staff of divers that can help you take your next steps. Take your time and dive a lot. dive, dive, eat, dive, sleep. Repeat. Practice makes perfect, learn from good - not cocky - divers.
