What did I almost step on?

I was snorkeling in Tortola near the caves of "treasure island" it was very shallow and i saw this thing boobing slightly between some rocks. it was defiantly trying to blend in with the rocks.. What the heck was it? a turtle's head, a Snake's head, I don't know.. but I'm very curious.
