I was just reading an article today quoting alleged scientists that researchers are seeing a massive coral die off on the Key Largo and up regions.

The claim is the water has been as cold as 52 degrees, and averaging in the low 60's due to a recent cold front that had lingered in Fl. They said almost double the number of manatees have died this year.

I know the news media exaggerates everything for fun and profit, everyone likes to look for train wrecks, so an "all reefs are dying after getting hit from a drive by shooting from pitbulls that have brain cancer from cell phones, Alar and swine flu all of which will now trigger Armageddon, so tune in for live team coverage you can count on" would not surprise me.

Now it is sort of hard to pawn off a dead 1000lb manatee, but I have not heard anything from the dive community about some apocalyptic coral die off from a severe cold front in Florida.

Anyone see such?
