We had several requests asking if our Backup is a copy of the UltraFire W200.
The UltraFire W200 is a clone of our BackUp W30 made by a Chinese guy. Every product what it is good on the market is cloned in cheap way in China these days!
TillyTec bought 200 of this cheap made in China light for testing.

Results:

The optical power of the China copy fluctuates very strongly, what points out, that there are considerable contact problems.

Under this 200 light there are some they have approx. 8000 lux but more of them got only 3000-5000 lux. Exact 20 lights from this China clone company which had 8000 lux, 104 lights had 4000-5000 lux, the Rest 3000-4000 lux.

A few info’s for comparing:
The TillyTec BackUp W30 can create approx. 11.000 lux. Even our original W20 from 2004 had already 5000 lux. (15-25 Watt Halogen).

To explain halogen:

5000-8000 lux at 4 degree irradiation “appear" under water approx. So bright like a regular halogen bulb with 15-25 Watt.

5000-8000 lux at a irradiation of 100 (hundred) degree !! "appear" under water so bright like 500 ( five hundred ! ) Watt Halogen light.

For more about lux read our Lux not Lumens page.

Back to the China clones: All lights began to flicker after a short time.
It is maybe not a bad light if you just want to use it as a regular flashlight out of water. Who can accept this and is in search of a real cheap light can consider buying it but should not be annoyed or wondering if they in China are not able to perform miracles!

In this case: Who buys cheap buys twice!
