Woman Dies on Certification Dive at Catalina Island

A woman died at Catalina after a reported emergency ascent during her checkout dive.
56 year old Mona Towle of Redlands was declared dead after deputies, county fire paramedics and Baywatch Avalon crews worked to revive her while in route by boat to a hyperbaric chamber operated by USC at Two Harbors, according to the Sheriffs department.

On the lighter side, if I am going to die, I would rather die doing something I love vs something else. I have read of people that died on the toilet, this has to be better.
It seems it was a PADI AOW class? More info will follow! The accident involved a rapid accent!
