Default Australia tax on scuba diving?!

Last year there was word that the Labor government was proposing a $30 tax on scuba divers for the year.

What is the latest on this?

DEAD and BURIED! Of course though it will be relooked into just after the NSW state election in march if the labour party get back into power. Its only a NSW tax not national. It will be very hard to enforce and a lot of the voluntary work that divers do will stop. Fisheries wont be getting info on grey nurse shark numbers so will need to count themselves so the budget will be stretched tighter than it is so things will get overlooked. $30 aint much but when we arent taking anything from the water and we are providing information that they need why should we have to pay for the privilege?
