    Default Best Lens

Whats peoples opinions on the best lense underwater? Wide, Standard, Macro. Zoom or Prime. Wet or Dry. Film or Digital. Your choice.
Mine would have to be the UW-Nikkor 15mmF2.8. Just love the clarity of it, easy of use and how close you can get to things with it. Only downside is its underwater only and wont take topside pics.

Choice of lens depends mostly on the mission!
I enjoy the quality of the optics and the flexibility of my Nike 18-24.
IMO it's a superb, all around UW lense!

Absolutely right Cornel - it depends on what you're after. My fave for 100% of my local diving is the Nikkor 10.5mm wide angle prime for all the wreck shots I do.

Yeah it does depend on what your shooting but you must have that one lense you love to take out for a bubble.

I prefer Nikon 10.5 mm lens for wreck diving and super-wide angle diving , but at first you should have Nikon D2x or D2xs camera for use. otherwise , it's use is limited . please view my pictures for the evidence (http://www.flickr.com/photos/21146950@N00/sets/ ) . Happy Diving

A good lens ( Tokina fisheye 10-17 mm lens + dome port) is coming for Nexus housing since Feb. 2007 . I have ordered one set .

I like macro, so a Canon 100mm and a Woody's Diopter is my favorite.

For macro, I use a Canon 60 mm lens in a flat port and a Woody's diopter.
For wide angle, I use a Tokina 10-17 fish eye zoom in a dome port.

I would have to say the Canon 17mm-55mm zoom with a 8" Dome Port and a 3x Diopter and you can shoot wide angel to macro on the same dive witch makes it one of the most versatile lens in a wide range of conditions. If I am in doubt this is what I go with!
