    Jim Lyle, made an awesome trip report for an expedition to the Lembeh Straits. He's a noted underwater photographer.

    Compare that to the shrimp I shot at the 59 second mark in the top video in this thread

    Now I get a great kick out of Jim writing in the scientific names of his subjects.....and he identified his shrimp shot as a Dasycaris sp, and I think it is the zanzibarica as in Dasycaris zanzibarica.

    I identified the shrimp in my HD video as Percilmenes zanzibaricus.

    They look identical to me, hence my confusion.

    I found it listed as Dasycaris zanzibarica in my books.

    So what is the difference between a Dasycaris zanzibarica and a Periclimenes zanzibaricus?

    One is a Dasycaris and the other is a Periclimenes! One was found in the Seychelles and the other in the Philippines?
