    Default National Geographic Nudibranch article

    This months National Geographic magazine had a feature article on nudibranchs titled Living Color with macro subjects photographed underwater by David Doubilet

    I have to admit I was underwhelmed by the photos of the nudis on the white table. I felt it washed out the colors. The photo I found really stunning was the photo of the nudi in his natural habitat with the high speed black background. Now THAT was a great photo, IMHO.

    You know, I just didn't like the photos on the white table. I felt that they were stilted and the white background washed out the nudi's colors. I felt the photos could have been much more interesting if they had been natural and not moved to the table. The one photo I found stunning was the only one in its natural habitat with the dark background. Just my humble opinion.
