    Default hello.

hi all, followed a link on YD ( http://www.yorkshire-divers.com/ )by "idivechick", and came onboard for a look around,
A bit about me, learned to dive in the army (many years ago) (bsac2 in those days) left the army in 1984 and came back to my home town of swanage where I got back on the water (family run the hire boats at swanage) I have skippered diving, angling, and fishing boats since then and currently skipper the Smooth-hound (blythe 9.9m catamaran with a lift)

for pete and pat at "divers down" swanage. have seen a few divers over the years and I still enjoy taking em out, which may come as a surprise to some
I am a firm believer that we skippers are there to provide a safe and enjoyable day for the customers so if you expect to be cursed cajoled or bullied when you are on a trip, book with someone else! (I only do rude/rip the p!$$ out of mates,) having said that I can muster a bit of winding up for para's and booty's as you do!
I was on the swanage lifeboat crew for some years and still have links there (brother in law currently coxn, and other family members on the crews) spend most of my time nowadays fending off 6 kids, all after cash for somethingor on yd and other dive fora.
    safe diving
    mike.

What a nice looking, clean dive boat.

I think there is a small shark called a Brown Smoothhound. How did you come up with her name?

The village in the back looks quaint, the type I would love to visit and just go exploring around.

    thank you very much

common smooth-hound and the more common locally, starry smooth-hound, are often spotted on drift dives here!..... well, it was (apparently ) gonna be called "effitless" but this was thought to be setting the bar too high

QUAINT! thats a bit of a sore point locally sarah, the white buildings are "spanish villa type dwellings" which dont really fit in with the surroundings but hey if ya dont mind not being able to get furniture bigger than you'd put in a wendy house in there buy one! start at about 3/4m iirc
    here's a couple more pics [URL=""]
