Well I haven't been using them for the last few years, and my reason was because of the waste and the fact they are filling the landfills. Now I have another reason to stick with cloth.
Always remember the four R's in Waste Management: Refuse, Reduce, Re-use, Recycle.
Plastic (especially HDPE and LDPE), rubber and metallic-coated balloons are also a threat to marine turtles. They mistakenly see these as sea jellies.
Our participation in the international coastal clean-up September 2007, here in my town revealed 30 sackloads of rubbish, mostly plastic and rubber.
