end of dive blue wrasse

I've noticed on several dives schools of blue fish showing up at the end of the dives On moored dives I would see them when we come back to the mooring but woud'nt se them during the dive and on drifts in coz they would show up but only at the end when we would be drifting sometimes 30+ ftabove the reef on our safety stop they would also be well above the reef I'm curious to know if anyone else has noticed this behavior or has an explanation thank you T Jack
