Default Non-diving vacation to St Maarten

Well, now that I'm back home - as so is my luggage (it travelled on the next plane from Antigua as the plane I was on, was late and overweight!!!!!)

I've finally got round to getting the pics uploaded and typing up a brief spiel as to what I got up to.

I did see if I could do the Shark Awareness Dive on the thursday afternoon. So I swung by that morning to be told that the dive was cancelled due to not enough interest...but...I did get some lovely dive gear...
I've already tested them out and it was greeeaaattt (even made my dives cheaper by EC$20 (about US$8) due to having my own wetsuit.

here's a link to what I got up to

Looks like you had a great trip!

I would have loved to know about the diving, but I am sure you would have also.

    Welcome back.

    Hey, thanks guys.

I tried to do the trip update so that it was informative to other people who might be interested in going there...plus it ties in nicely with the rest of my site (the narrative for my previous trips are cr4p, so I might re-do those at some point, never!)

Glad you liked it, and yes I would have loved to have found out about the diving as well, but i might go back over there another time for shopping and of course lots more diving!!

Hey Lottie.. It's my fist time back on this forum in awhile, so sorry for commenting so late. Great blog. Brought back some memories of my trip there in '05. Did you stop by and talk to "Yoda Guy" on Old Steet? We bought a picture from him that we have hanging in our house still today. I'm not sure who you were going to dive with, but when I went, I dove with Dive Safaris. Great group of folks. Neat little dive spot on the next bay over with some old cannons and even a yellow submarine they sunk the day we were there. I only did a "Discover Scuba" with them. But, because of the dive with them back then, is the reason I am still diving today.
    Again, great blog.

    Hey Dale,
    Welcome back

Yes, it would have been Dive Safaris I would have gone with, but unfortunately I got contradicting information from them, which was a shame, but nevermind - they'll hopefully be a next time.

Even though I did go down Old Street, I didn't see the yoda guy (i'm not big on star wars!!).

Honestly, you didn't miss anything not talking to Nick (Yoda Guy)..
I didn't even know who he was. He had the story of how he worked on the puppet in his shop, so that's the only reason I know who he is now. Good artist though.
