Certificationin cuba?

My son is doing his pool traiing (PADI) as I type and going to Cuba in a couple of weeks.

He wanted to do his certification dives in Cuba ...but as I've discovered from some older posts he may be out of luck due to PADI not being recoginzed/operating in Cuba.

Can you give me some guidance on if it is possible to get a certification acceptable to PADI and how to porceed.

He is staying at the Paradisus Princess Del Mar in Varadero, are there any dive operators near that resort for him to speak with.

His father and I are both divers, just never been to Cuba before.
