22 year old Roxanne Hillier was accused of having sex with her employer, the owner of a dive center in Khor Fakkan who was also arrested an accused of the same "crime".
Hillier had been working at a diving center in Khor Fakkan for seven months, when she choose to use one of the dive centers locked spare rooms to sleep in while plumber worked on her apartment.
The dive center owner, an UAE national identified only only by the initials "MH" was nearby working on one of the compressors, when police blitzkrieged the center and arrested both.
Hillier was taken to a hospital and forced to strip and have her genitals examined for "evidence" she had sex.
After a sham trial, both were convicted of various phony charges, and MH was sentenced to 6 months in prison and Hiller sentenced to 3 months.
As always, the media seems to be fixated on the plight of the woman, completely ignoring the man was also arrested yet sentenced to double the punishment for the same exact "crime". However, he had his sentence reduced on appeal, and eventually, both were released early.
Hiller has since left the region vowing to never return, and Roxanne’s younger sister Maxine, aslo a diving instructor but in Abu Dhabi, has also quit her job and left the country.
