The Coral Reef Squadron

This is the nickname for the project to sink TEN (not 8 as I mistakenly reported in another thread) decommissioned aircraft off the coast of Phuket.

The sinking was supposed to take place May 5, but weather and sea conditions have forced a postponement until the planes can be sunk and anchored safely.

The aircraft are being cleaned up and made as safe as possible for both environmental reasons and so that divers can enjoy them even without receiving full wreck diving specialization.

They will be sunk at an easily diveable depth, and the interiors will be large enough to allow swim-through penetrations.

They will be laid out in a circular formation (see image). I expect this to be a sort of playground for divers who come here to visit.
