The Life Aquatic with Lacadives is an offshoot of Lacadives, the pioneer of SCUBA diving in India for the last 16 years. A certain percentage of the proceeds from our trip go towards a WhaleShark Research Project along the Gujarat Coast in India. Hundreds of whale sharks congregate in this area but little is known about it. Only recently has this species found legal protection from the slaughtering that used to happen here in large numbers. With the BP oil spill threatening our fragile ecosystem and putting our oceans in danger, as well as changing the course of the movements of the whale sharks in the Gulf of Mexico, the time to act is now.
