Mermaids PADI Career Development Center have been leaders in Scuba Diving internships since 1999 - A dive center for almost 2 decades and producing successful instructor candidates for over 10 years. A full range of internships are offered including some very unique programs directly targeted at maximum employability. In this area we have the “Dive Business Management Training” internship. This is a 2 month program aimed at professional divers that wish to fully understand the day to day logistics and management decisions to be made in the industry. Dry side engineering courses aimed at making the diver as employable on dry land as in the water are proving to be very successful in gaining divers employment. In this area the ASSET (Association of scuba Service Engineers and Technicians) is offered. This internationally recognized certification is unique to Mermaids in S E Asia. Everything that Mermaids offer is designed to ensure the best preparation for diving environments and employment. Whether this is the Dry Suit or full-face mask specialty courses (to Instructor Trainer level) for those returning to cooler climes or public safety diving instructor training for those entering this realm of diving - it is covered. Mermaids Dive Center have strived to make the most complete internship packages focusing on all areas to assist the diver. It is one thing for a dive center to take a divers money and train them. It is another to offer a fully supportive internship with pro-active job placement program to ensure that the employment that the diver is training for is achievable. From all of the 13 internships that Mermaids offer - the OWSI Open Water Scuba instructor) training is the most popular in entering the dive industry for employment. The program is all-inclusive for a fee dependant on the level of experience of the entering diver. Mermaid's 2006/7 - "Diving Life" scuba internship training allows you to dive train from National Geographic open water diver (or even no experience) to open water scuba instructor in 6 months (or longer or shorter with un-limited diving).
