I think it might be a good idea to set a minimum number of posts before users can display a signature, otherwise you get a lot of spam. Just a thought regarding recent single posts with links in sigs.
If it looks like spam and taste like spam, it probably is spam.

Oh the funny thing is, half of the spammers create spam sig lines that are text only, they do not hyperlink...
We catch them all right away and ban their IP....
