It is a Jawfish.
They are a Mouth-Brooding type of fish. Nice find and photo!
Ace is spot-on.
I have seen pictures of the males with their mouths just jammed full of eggs. I read that they have to kind of shuffle the eggs around every so often to keep them all viable. Sounds like a pretty tough way to procreate.
By the way, nice picture.

Oh thanks
yes it is thisone http://www.marinecenter.com/fish/jaw.../tigerjawfish/
btw the little man was quite aggressive
I believe it. It's funny, but it seems the smaller the fish is, the tougher he is. Every time a 2 inch Damsel tries to chase me away from his algae farm I almost gag from laughing. It's a fish-eat-fish world on that reef and the tough guys stay alive.

Excellent. Are there possibilities of seeing it enlarged? Tell me if so please. What is the next step to aquire a large one? Really nice work,Bra. Steve
I've seen photos of them with eggs in their mouths too.
Awesome Indonesia pics Raymond!
Hi!

Ok here's another one. I took this off the coast of Los Angeles in about 50ft or so just a few days ago. I haven't been able to find a pic with this same color in the dive book that I have.
Hi Lisa.
Are you in the Philippines?
