I remember it as a single word.... but I cannot remember that word.
The only term that I know of is bradycardia, which means a slow heart rate.
are you referring to a scenario were someone goes into cold water and the heart rate slows down - which would be related to some type of shock.

It is a specific term used for the physiological effect of one immersing their
face in water. Goes back 1000's of years. Why our heart rate drops when our face gets wet is unknown.
ie. face gets wet while taking a shower, dipping your face in a pool, splashing your face with water, getting your face splashed with water, etc..
It is automatic, non voluntary effect.
