5 New Species of Pygmy Seahorses Discovered

The above Hippocampus debelius, or soft coral seahorse, was named after Helmut Debelius, noted marine animal researcher.
Initially sighted in the Red Sea in 1993, it took a decade later to find new specimens to trigger new classification.

Seen above, the Walea pygmy seahorse is named after Walea Island in the Central Sulawesi Indonesia archipeligo, the only place it has been spotted.
