Pavely-USA TODAY SportsWith the 2019 NFL Draft in the rear view mirror, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2019 season is fast approaching, and the news surrounding the black-and-gold is far from over. As the team now turns their attention to more offseason workouts, OTAs and minicamp Devin Bush Jersey Womens , there is no shortage of news.Today in the black-and-gold links article we take a look at how the one aspect of the Pittsburgh Steelers team which rarely gets questioned is the offensive line. But is this position group overrated?Let’s get to the news:Mike Munchak is gone, and now Steelers fans will find out if the success of the offensive line has been because of ‘Magic Mike’, or due to good drafting and keeping the vast majority of a cohesive unit together for the long haul.To read the full article, click HERECould a young Cheap Devin Bush Jersey , undrafted, rookie not just make the Steelers’ roster, but contribute to the team’s defense? To read the full article, click HEREWhen the Steelers recently signed 5 players after their rookie minicamp T. To make matters worse, I offered you few pointers going 7-7 ATS and 6-8 versus the totals. At this point in time, fading our picks might be the wisest course of action. All of the spreads in excess of a touchdown covered last Sunday, while the final totals were well above the predicted lines in a number of games. Perhaps having learned their lesson Joe Greene Jersey , the bookmakers have only priced up two games with a spread over a touchdown in Week 7 and it would be fair to say that both of the underdogs in those games look like value bets this week. The Cincinnati Bengals face a tough road trip to the Kansas City Chiefs (-6) on Sunday and a loss for both them and the Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) hosting the New Orleans Saints could push Pittsburgh to the top of the standings in the division. Speaking of 2020, there are a whole lot of quarterbacks scheduled to hit free agency and bringing in the excellent class of quarterbacks currently aiming at declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft.:That is 21 starting caliber quarterbacks scheduled to be available in 2020, that says nothing of the quarterbacks who will remain with their squads in ‘20, like: Carson Wentz, Jared Goff, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Patrick Mahomes, Jimmy Garoppolo, Deshaun Watson, Kirk Cousins, Cam Newton, Matthew Stafford Dre’Mont Jones Denver Broncos Jersey , Nick Foles, Mitch Trubisky, or Andrew Luck. The five teams who drafted starting quarterbacks in 2018: Cleveland Browns (Baker Mayfield), New York Jets (Sam Darnold), Buffalo Bills (Josh Allen), Arizona Cardinals (Josh Rosen), and Baltimore Ravens (Lamar Jackson) will also not need starting quarterback in 2020. Then there are the teams who draft Kyle Murray, Dwayne Haskins, Drew Lock, and Daniel Jones... That’s 22 teams with starting quarterbacks in 2020 and currently 21 available starting quarterbacks scheduled to be available on the open market in 2020. There are 32 NFL teams for those of you keeping track at home. The year 2020, at present, has an NFL surplus of starting quarterbacks by at least 13 next season. Those chances are much more significant than the 2019 chance of one of the four: Haskins, Murray, Lock, or Jones turning into a career starter. That is perhaps the best argument against drafting a quarterback in 2019. Those making an argument for drafting a quarterback in the first round this season have simply not looked at the numbers. It is also, perhaps, why draftniks continue to push Missouri quarterback Drew Lock to the Denver Broncos in mock drafts... They haven’t looked at the numbers or they expect John Elway and Co. to do what they have done consistently. So Brendan Langley Jersey , let’s talk quarterbacks. Get in where you fit in, because study long, study wrong! DENVER (AP) — Philip Rivers doesn’t care that the Chargers must hit the road on wild-card weekend despite winning a dozen games, including a 23-9 nail-biter in Denver on Sunday in which he completed just 14 passes.Nor does he mind facing the Baltimore Ravens, who thumped the Chargers 22-10 last weekend in Los Angeles. The Chargers have won six straight on the road and went 7-1 away from home with their only road loss coming literally up the road to the Rams back in September. For their first playoff appearance in five years, the Chargers will face a rejuvenated Ravens team that’s won six of seven under rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson and features the league’s No. 1 defense.“It’s a heck of a challenge,” Rivers said. “I don’t think there was a team that wasn’t going to be a heck of a challenge. … They’re all good. That team outplayed us last week and it will be a new game, new everything. We’ll see who can play the best this time.”Were it not for a last-second loss to the Broncos at home in November, the Chargers would have supplanted the Chiefs as the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs and earned a first-round bye.So, it turns out the Broncos (6-10) were the spoilers even though they lost again Sunday. That’s of no consolation to a franchise careening into another offseason of uncertainty after posting double-digit losses in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1966-67, an ignominy that could cost second-year coach Vance Joseph his job .“I want to come back and make this thing right,” said Joseph, who’s expected to meet with general manager John Elway on Monday morning to learn if he’ll get that opportunity.Joseph acknowledged an 11-21 record isn’t good enough by the Broncos’ standards, “but I think we’ve put a lot of work in. There’s a foundation that’s been laid here that should pay off in the future.”That bedrock, said defensive end Derek Wolfe, is a never-quit attitude that was on display again Sunday.“V.J., he’s one of my favorite people on this planet. I love that guy with all my heart and I’ve got a lot of respect for him Bradley Chubb Jersey ,” Wolfe said, adding that he’d hate to see the Broncos go in search of their fourth coach in six seasons.Rivers was just 14 of 24 for 176 yards and a touchdown and he threw two interceptions in the first quarter, something that’s happened just twice before in Rivers’ 15-year NFL career.“It’s not as good as we want to play, but again, I don’t see any pattern,” Rivers said of the offensive struggles in back-to-back games. “I really don’t buy into patterns or momentums in the games. It hasn’t been as good. I think you look at our collective body of work this year and it’s been good enough to win 12 games.”And the Broncos were bad enough to lose 10.They were done in mostly by their feeble offense that punted on its first drive for the ninth straight game and which managed a mere two touchdowns in its last 34 first-half drives, endangering offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave no matter who’s coaching the team in 2019.Denver’s offense accounted for just nine points — six on fullback Andy Janovich’s first career touchdown and a chip-shot field goal by Brandon McManus.Denver’s offense also accounted for nine points by the Chargers. After Janovich’s first career TD pulled Denver to 14-9 with 10 minutes remaining, cornerback Casey Hayward Jr. stepped in front of rookie receiver Courtland Sutton and picked off the 2-point conversion attempt. He slipped Suttons’ tackle at the goal line and raced 102 yards to give the Chargers a 16-9 lead. Then, Rivers had his only sustained drive, capped by Austin Ekeler’s 1-yard TD run .Rivers’ only TD throw was a 3-yard toss to Mike Williams that made it 14-3 came after Joey Bosa’s fumble recovery at the Denver 16.The Chargers took a 7-3 halftime lead thanks to a defensive touchdown .Keenum hit Royce Freeman with a low screen that he didn’t secure. A hard hit by cornerback Desmond King II to a prone Freeman popped the ball loose, and linebacker Kyle Emmanuel scooped it up and ran 11 yards for a 7-0 lead the Chargers would never relinquish.ALL FOR NAUGHTRivers was intercepted twice in the first quarter for just the third time in his 15-year career. However, the Broncos failed to convert interceptions by rookie Isaac Yiadom and Will Parks into points.INJURIES:Chargers: LB Jatavis Brown injured his right ankle tackling Freeman on the final play of the first quarter.Broncos: RT Jared Veldheer (ribs), C Connor McGovern (ankle) and S Darian Stewart (shoulder) all went out in the second half.UP NEXT:Chargers: Head to Baltimore for wild-card weekend.Broncos: Embark on another offseason of change with big questions yet again at coach and QB. ]]> chenyan94 http://www.scubamagazine.net/showthread.php?5476-Russell-Wilson-gave-the-Seattle-Seahawks Daily Slop: Trent Williams looks beyond ready http://www.scubamagazine.net/showthread.php?5475-Daily-Slop-Trent-Williams-looks-beyond-ready&goto=newpost Mon, 19 Aug 2019 03:26:04 GMT in workout videos; What is Kevin O’Connell’s new role in Redskins offense? Ryan did television and radio work for the last two years and also spent time working at a shipyard while waiting for the phone to ring from a team. The phone didn’t ring, which left Ryan to pick it up and make a call to Washington to end what he called a “humbling” stretch of being away from the game.“When you’re out of a job, you need people to step up and help you,” Ryan said, via the team’s website. “I’m not a charity case at all, I’m a great coach. But to be out of work that long makes no sense. It made no sense. But it humbles you and you come back with a good attitude.”Humble isn’t a word often associated with the Ryan family, but Ryan appears to be back in the saddle. He says the Washington defense “is going to do great” in what he hopes will be the first chapter of a second act to his coaching career. ]]> chenyan94 http://www.scubamagazine.net/showthread.php?5475-Daily-Slop-Trent-Williams-looks-beyond-ready Oakland Raiders punter Johnny Townsend http://www.scubamagazine.net/showthread.php?5474-Oakland-Raiders-punter-Johnny-Townsend&goto=newpost Mon, 19 Aug 2019 01:37:18 GMT ALAMEDA Maxx Crosby Oakland Raiders Jersey (http://www.raidersfansclub.com/maxx-crosby-jersey/) , Calif. (AP) — Oakland Raiders punter Johnny... ALAMEDA Maxx Crosby Oakland Raiders Jersey , Calif. (AP) — Oakland Raiders punter Johnny Townsend is plenty thankful that he doesn’t have to cover Kansas City’s Tyreek Hill as a defender.Dealing with Hill on special teams is challenging enough as is, even if it is for only two or three plays a game.Hill has given opponents fits since entering the league as an unheralded fifth-round draft pick in 2016. He’s been voted to the Pro Bowl as a returner in each of his first two seasons in the league and is likely to make it three for three this year.As much as the Raiders have focused on slowing down the Chiefs‘ high-octane offense this week, trying to prevent Hill from breaking loose on special teams has been an equally big emphasis.“He’s an unbelievable athlete and he’s somebody we circle on the calendar every single year. Not only him but that team in general,” Townsend said. “We’re going to do everything we can to limit his returns and try to flip the field.”Saying it and doing it are often two different things, especially when it comes to the Raiders this season.Hill is sixth in the NFL with an 11.6-yard average this year. He had a 91-yard punt return for a touchdown in the opener against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 9 that remains the longest return in the league this year. That’s a significant dip from his rookie season when Hill had a 15.2-yard average but most of that is a result of teams no longer willing to kick the ball in his direction or preferring to pin him to a side, something Townsend said the Raiders most definitely will attempt to do this week.“Just trying to shrink the field as much as we can and not give him the field to run to is going to be really important,” Townsend said. “As long as we can execute in that aspect I think we’ll be OK. It really is kind of a test for yourself as a punter, especially knowing how successful he’s been in the NFL as a return man.“I’ve been watching him for years in college. Every time I turn on an NFL game and see him play it’s just like, ‘Man that guy’s a tough guy to kick to.’ This is my first opportunity to do it so I’m excited to see how it goes.”Townsend has had mixed results during his rookie season. A fifth-round draft pick, Townsend is averaging 43.5 yards but has had three games where he failed to average more than 38 yards. Not all of the problems have been on Townsend. During last week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Raiders surrendered a 70-yard return for a touchdown to Baltimore’s Cyrus Jones, who was never touched while weaving around Oakland’s coverage unit.“We have to do a better job than we did last week Maxx Crosby Oakland Raiders Jersey ,” Raiders coach Jon Gruden said. “We gave them a low-hanging punt that gave (Jones) a two-way go, and that’s hard to defend. If we do that against this guy, we’ll have very little chance to win this game. This guy is really unique. Tyreek Hill, he’s a unique skill set. You have to limit his opportunities every way you can, on offense and in the kicking game.” OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Coach Jon Gruden ran off the field high-fiving Oakland fans on the way to the locker room.In a season with very little to celebrate, the Raiders had plenty to feel good about Sunday.Derek Carr threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Derek Carrier with 21 seconds left before Chris Boswell slipped on a potential game-tying 40-yard field goal attempt on the final play of the Raiders’ 24-21 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.Carr threw two touchdown passes to overcome fourth-quarter deficits and the Raiders (3-10) then survived after allowing a 48-yard hook-and-lateral pass play that set up the final field goal try.“The character of this team is impressive,” Gruden said. “No matter what anybody says or saw today, the character in there is special.”Carr threw for 322 yards, including a 3-yard TD to Lee Smith that put Oakland up 17-14 with 5:20 to play. His second TD to Carrier capped his 16th career fourth-quarter game-winning drive.“What we’ve kind of been preaching as a team is just resiliency because we’ve definitely faced adversity this year, and finishing strong, and that’s what we did today Maxx Crosby Jersey 2019 ,” Carrier said. “We’ve been in position to win games and the ball just hasn’t rolled our way for one reason or another.”Roethlisberger returned from a rib injury to lead a go-ahead touchdown drive that Carr answered. Big Ben then connected on a short pass to James Washington. Washington then flipped the ball to JuJu Smith-Schuster, who raced down the sideline for 43 more yards to set up Boswell’s chance. But his lost his footing on the approach, sending the Steelers (7-5-1) to their third straight loss, all decided in the final minutes.“Sometimes it makes it worse when it’s right there,” Roethlisberger said. “If you get blown out it doesn’t seem to hurt as bad as when you have a chance.”Roethlisberger missed the first four drives of the second half before returning to drive the Steelers to the go-ahead score on a 1-yard pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster before once again ending up on the losing end in a trip to Oakland. He is 0-4 at the Coliseum and the Raiders remain the only AFC opponent he has never beaten on the road.Pittsburgh went scoreless on four drives with backup Joshua Dobbs.“(Roethlisberger) probably could’ve come in a series or so sooner, but we were in a rhythm and flow of the game,” coach Mike Tomlin said. “He was ready to go when he got back out there.Roethlisberger finished 25 for 29 for 282 yards and two TDs, but the Steelers failed to open up ground on Baltimore in the AFC North. Pittsburgh has a half-game lead over the Ravens. He also threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Smith-Schuster with 10 seconds remaining in the first half. Smith-Schuster deflected the high pass to himself and deftly managed to get both feet down with a toe tap in the back of the end zone. The play was ruled incomplete on the field, but was overturned on replay to the delight of the thousands of yellow-towel waving Steelers fans who filled the Coliseum. But it was the Raiders fans who cheered at the end after Boswell’s missed kick that came after the Steelers got in position thanks to the short pass to James Washington, who lateraled to Smith-Schuster, who raced 43 yards to the 22.Boswell has now missed six field goals and five extra points, with his 11 missed kicks ranking worst in the NFL.“It’s terrible Cheap Maxx Crosby Jersey , what else do you want me to say,” Boswell said.GROUNDEDPittsburgh got little from its running game with James Conner sidelined by an ankle injury. They gained 40 yards on 19 carries with Stevan Ridley scoring on a 1-yard run in the second quarter.FUMBLE OR NOTThe Raiders found themselves on the wrong end of replay reviews during an odd sequence late in the third quarter. With Oakland at the Pittsburgh 22, Carr lost the ball just before trying to throw it for a fumble that was recovered by Pittsburgh upheld on replay. Just a few plays later, Dobbs was hit by Arden Key as he tried to throw and the ball came loose. Oakland recovered that, but officials ruled it an incomplete pass and the call stood after a challenge by the Raiders. It turned out not to matter much when Tahir Whitehead intercepted Dobbs on the next play.PRESSURE POINTThe Raiders got a rare sack in the second quarter when Clinton McDonald brought down Roethlisberger on a third down. That was the league-low 11th sack of the season for Oakland. The play proved pivotal when Boswell missed a 39-yard field goal on the following play for his first miss inside of 40 yards this season.FAST STARTThe Raiders again got off to a fast start on offense with a 1-yard TD run by Doug Martin on the opening drive. That gave Oakland 41 points on the first drive this season, fourth best in the league.HOLDING ONThe Raiders committed three facemask penalties in a span of 13 plays in the second quarter. Before the infractions from Tahir Whitehead, Johnathan Hankins and Erik Harris, Oakland hadn’t been penalized for a facemask all season.UP NEXTSteelers: Host Patriots on Sunday.Raiders: Visit Bengals on Sunday. ]]> chenyan94 http://www.scubamagazine.net/showthread.php?5474-Oakland-Raiders-punter-Johnny-Townsend
