Before I even saw him getting caught on the railing, my thought was, why are you sitting on the railing? Trying to bend it?!

Maybe he was sitting on the railing because it felt good?:o

Anyway, I hope he was ok, it would suck if he couldn't breathe!

FORGET THAT!!! Keep those crotch straps away from me. I don't want crushed nuts thank you very much. Just does not seem like a smart idea of using such a sensitive part of your body to strap anything to or around or whatever.

Excuse my ignorance but why do you need a crotch strap to free dive?

By the way I can't stop laughing at this...

Oooh. Now that must have been painful. It makes me so glad I'm female :)

Seasnake - Showing my diving naivety - what are doubles?

Doubles is using two cylinders banded together, usually connected by a manifold that allows gas to flow freely between both cylinders. In the old days when cylinders were typically much smaller, it was common to see triple setups for the bigger dives.

Tripples, I think I remember seeing that in a Cousteau video or two back in the day. Wow, can you imagine that extra weight for 3 38 cubic foot cylinders.....

Actually I just saw them on ebay, tripple AL30's with a tripple manifold all inside an ABS housing. There is about 30 minutes left in the auction.

Wow, that unit looked pristine and it went for only $500.

Yes, it did look near perfect! I wonder if it is something that could still be used, and if you would really want to use it. It is only 90 cubic feet of air in all of that weight, it would be much easier to carry 1 steel 95.

It would look cool though, and you could rest assured that you would be the only diver on the boat with tripples!

Maybe, when we do arrange a ScubaMagazine Dive Trip, we should setup that someone does something equally simple and highly amusing - DaddyH2O will be in LOL'ing hysterics for the whole trip :D :D

You won't have to set it up at all, give me a little bit of rum, and I think I am the funniest guy in the world, unless my alter ego shows up then it is a lot like the tears of a clown...
