Hello everyone! I just joined today, actually. I was referred by iDiveChick off My Space... seems like a nice place to talk about common interests and ask questions so I am happy to be apart of it all!

Be talking soon,

I quite actively market the ScubaMagazine forum to my fellow women divers, that is why I created the ScubaChix Forum.

Besides, the fellas love us all anyways! I mean, what scuba guy wouldn't want his girl to be a diver AND arm candy?! ;)

And fellas, we know you get a kick out of a women divers forum where we talk about periods and diving, tender boobs and Brazilian waxing (laser is better!) and the funny parodies of guys wanting their own forum to talk about your prostate issues is good natured sarcasm, but it was me who thought of equal time and requested the counterpart Manly-Men Forum so you can all talk about your prostate issues, manscaping and the therapuetic medicinal values of Viagra ;)

Girls, (and Guys), get the word out!

:) Sarah

I'd rather talk about the problem of getting a wet suit that really fits.
Why do they squish all the curvy parts and sag at the waist? Not to mention the length of the legs!

I've checked, and I'm definitely a girl, so I'm dropping in to say hello too. My diving is going to be curtailed for the next 7 months whilst I grow a baby :-) I'm looking forward to getting back in the water sometime next year - or is that wishful thinking?...

Hi Jo, and welcome!

Many women dive substantially into their pregnancies, and most can start diving quite quickly once they feel up to it.

If celebs can start aerobics a month later, why not diving?

Oh, and congratulations on then coming new one! :)

Congrats Jo!

Our divemaster (and friend) J married long-time dive buddy P. They're super-avid divers. P continued to dive until her third month. Beyond that, just the thought of donning weight belt and wet suit became intolerable.

Post-birth, they figured P could’ve gone back into the water four to five months later -- except, fearing that her breastmilk might dry up, she didn’t want to be parted from her baby for even a weekend.

A total of nine months after the birth, by then comfortable about bringing the baby with them (3-hour road trip one-way) for a weekend at the resort (feeding baby on demand still being the consideration), P finally got to slip back into the water. We were there to celebrate the moment :)

With that system, P was able to breastfeed for up to 18 months. (I can only assume that’s a good run, sounds like it to me :))

Just thought sharing how other mommies went about it might be assuring :)

Thought I'd jump on the bandwagon as well and say Hello/Bonjour/Wilkommen

Just to pre-warn you - My presence on here is going to increase over the next three weeks as I got told by the doc that I've got an ear infection (now on antibiotics + brufen) and she told me I can't dive for three weeks.....three weeks!!!....how am I gonna survive...<deep sigh>

Lottie :)
