Hey, I'm from the east coast . . . No real ice here yet either, or snow for that matter. Although they are threatening a few cm this weekend. Water stayed above freezing last year too.

If you guys really want some more cold water come to Sydney Australia at the moment. We should have temperatures in the mid 20sC but lately its been hovering around the 15C mark and bloody cold.

When down south, we' say "How'd you like a taste of Canadian waters?" while slipping a large ice cube down the back of a nice tight-fitting wetsuit.

Works especially well on men, I might add. :D

It is recommended that you refrain from consuming alcohol at least 12 hours, and preferably 24 hours, before diving.

Oh, I don't think you'll find anyone disagreeing with you! We all like the warm water too! But the diving in Canada is too good to not put up with a little cold. Hope it all goes well for you! Can't wait to hear how your trip goes!

I hear Canadian waters are around 50 even in the winter, but drysuit manufacturers chill the water up there....

There is alot of lakes here, actually I live in lake community. Should be good place to practice, before I go to Novia Scotia in July.

We always have it handy in winter time but have used it only once so far.

I wish we where breathing gas at 102F but unfortunaltely, it is closer to 57F. Still way warmer than the 32-37F water surrounding us but not quite toasty yet.

Talking about temprature. Take a look at this weird inverted thermocline...
