Any DixieLand divers here? I'm a born, raised and moved back to (after a 10 year absence) Georgia Boy. Most of my diving, when not in the Caribbean, is done in the North Florida Springs.. Anyone else?

I know we have some Dixie Divers, weekday eves tend to be our busiest.

With luck next year for the DEMA show I will try to do some Crystal Springs Fl manatee dives.

Welcome.. We just had a guy move here to GA from Texas. He was in the San Antonio area.. We just took him to our LDS (Diver's Supply) last week and are taking him on his first FL Springs trip next weekend. If you ever make it out this way, give us a shout..
Any decent diving in AR?? Got an old roommate from my military days that's a cop up in NW AR. Hiawassee, I think, but he's no diver so I've never heard if there was any around there.

to my surprize there is alot of clear water lakes in my area. the water temps are in the low 60s so you wont see alot of cattleboat dive ops around :D
here is a pic from a dive I did 04/28/07

I'm in SC--Local diving consists of Lake Jocassee in the summer and Lake Keowee's "Hot Hole" in the winter.

Jocassee has two major recreational dive areas--the wall and the divers ramp.

The wall has ledges at depths of 30-40, 60-70 and 80-300+ wall diving (of course we only go to 130 rec diving). Vis is very good in Jocassee b/c it is a deep lake and the silt settles deep. It also has a mostly limestone bank which makes for nice sand beaches. We have wrecks, a basketball goal, motorcycle, etc...

The walk-in divers ramp has a few neat things to see and has easy access. you can drive your car down, drop off your gear, park your car and walk back down to suit up and jump in.

Come on up!

I've heard about Hot Hole and some place that has "The Bones Family." I'll definitely make a trip up there one weekend.
I just got back from my first spearfishing adventure in St. Marks and Carrabelle, FL. First time in both of those spots and first time spearfishing. It was fun. I'm not a born-again spearfisherman, but it was a good time and we got a few big 'uns. I think I like taking pictures better, though. ;)
