Well, it was bound to happen. We deploy countermeasures when airlines try to weight our carry-on bags, now regulator manufacturers are responding by carefully designing regulators that are real weight defiers.

The new Apeks Flight regulator is advertised by Apeks as the worlds lightest.

They rate it as good in water temperatures down to 10C. I notice an injection molded connector system on the right side, a highly compact 1st stage and an ulratralight braided low pressure hose.

I have been wanting one of these since they came out a few months ago. The yolk version is a bit heavier, but still very lightweight and easy to travel with.

They're not that light but i did notice a different with the lack of mouth fatigue after a hour in the water.

Now all they need is to actually publish the weight somewhere!

That is fairly light.....I ought to weigh some of my older regs....

Wait until you weigh one of your setups, you will come to realize how lightweight this stuff really is.

shame about the proprietary hoses, I could see them being an issue if one went pop when using your "travel" reg in the middle of nowhere.

True. but the braided nylon hoses ala MiFlex sure rock....the higher flexibility is really nice.

Their hoseless version is even lighter.

Is their hoseless version sort of like their airless version? ;)

I think I saw James Bond use one in Live or Let Die? ;) Not even a tank is required!
