A man has been charged with receiving stolen scuba gear and attempting to sell it on Craigslist.

Fernando Ramirez, 25, of 21 Russell Ave., Pawcatuck, is charged with receiving stolen goods, according to Rhode Island State Police Lt. Wilfred K. Hill.

The regular being sold was an uncommon regulator and it had been modified from the original by the owner, so the victim started doing his own online research trying to see if it surfaced.

When he found his gear for sale on Craigslist, he contacted local police in Portsmouth.

State police arraigned to buy the gear from the thief where they met him in a parking lot and arrested Fernando Ramirez.

So glad this person got caught! I wonder how he got the stolen gear in the first place.
