From Norway via Brazil to the Philippines

Thanks Dave, introducing me to this community :-)

I am from Norway but prefer diving in tropical waters - did my NAUI scuba diver in Salvador, Brazil and went down to the Norwegian (!) ship Black Adder looking for marine horses on my first real dive - we found three! That little creature has been one of my favourites ever since.

However, coming up is a trip to the Philippines where I will do my advanced PADI (never found NAUI again leaving Brazil) and meet those whale sharks. It seems I'll start in Bohol first week of December - any suggestions of where to stay, where to dive and what else one have to do in Phil are welcome.

Bohol is a great place to start. You can visit the "Chocolate Hills" in the center of Bohol. There is also the church at Bacalyon the structure is from 1730's and the parish is from 1590's. You can also go on a river cruise, the Loboc river lunch cruise.

I don't know if the Whalesharks come to this area. If you want whalesharks, try Anilao.

My wife and I stayed in Puerto Galera in 2005, dove through action divers.

Was in Bohol in May 09 this year. Stayed at Alona Tropical Resort, ProSafari Dive centre is right beside it. Decent accomodation and great dive experience with the centre. PM me for the contact.
