After the sinking of a Philippines based ferry as reported by us here (http://www.scubamagazine.net/showthread.php?t=2761), a survivor was found bobbing in the seas 8 miles from the sinking.

A Philippine Air Force helicopter located Lita Casunglon with her lifejacket in choppy seas 30 hours after the ferry sinking.

Rear Admiral Pama, who helped supervise the rescue, called it "a miracle".
"She has been drifting amid huge waves for a long time without any food or water," he said."She's very lucky she survived," after mentioning a fear of sharks.

Rear Admiral Alexander Pama said Lita Casunglon was in a stable condition, despite her harrowing ordeal.

About 1000 people were on the Superferry9 when it sank according to officials.

Unconfirmed reports are being floated about of a hole punched in the hull, which would seem feasible in conjunction with confirmed reports of a generator not working, which could have powered bulge pumps.

Hats of the Philippine navy and Air Force for not giving up.
