I have been editing video I take with my SONY HD camera.
The problem I am having is the size of the files are LARGE.
3+GB...

Where is there a site I can upload these large vids for others
to enjoy?

Vimeo maybe?

Lars,

We upload them to Vimeo.com. We have a channel there called The Coral Rainforst HD.

YouTube now renders better content if what you upload is HD. It won't display and stream it larger, but it will autoconvert to a higher quality if it recognizes you uploaded HD content.

We just uploaded a 225 mb HD vidoe file tot Vimeo, and it can't handle a file that large as it now even jerks the audio.

So it's possible to upload video files that are Gigabytes in size toYouTube and
YouTube will render them downward.. No problems with the size of the
original file being like 3-7GB ?

Thanks for the input.

Files several gigabytes are too large. You need to compress them down to file sizes in the 50-150 megabyte size. YouTube has a max video length of 10 minutes. I don't think they have a max file size limit though, although whatever you upload gets encoded to flash.

I use Quicktime compressor, which although it doesn't have too many controls, it's easy to use. Apple has Quicktime for Windows, a free download.
