Built in France in 1919, Henry C. Daryaw was navigating the river for Montreal on November 21, 1941 when she ran up against a high bottom to sink in the St-Laurent River very close to Brockville in Ontario. The fog would have been interfering with safe navigation. If most of crew left unscathed, a mechanic did not have this chance and drowned. Since, the ship rests in more than 25 meters of water, in a narrow canyon where prevails a stiff current. The divers benefit from the holds which contained coal for the last voyage for to take shelter from that current and swim without too much effort.

If you have enough curiosity, here is the clip on YouTube.

My pleasure!

Can't complain of the current on that one as Jeff was kind enough to drop us up river so we could just drift into the wreck.:)

Sweet. I haven't tried that one as a drift yet... I bet it's a bit easier?

Moored up to it, we had fun trying to attach stages, while acting as flag poles on the surface...lol... Have you drifted from the bow to the stern, over the keel? That's pretty fun!

Yes it was, what gave him away, the KISS or the camera?

You know what they say; Birds of a feather...

Yes we did that, in search of the elusive strugeons.:(

I was surprised to see dunes carved in the accumulated zebra mussel shells on the keel.
