Great upload place http://www.vimeo.com/ You can even upload HD and you get 500mb per week free!

See two examples here:http://www.twotankedproductions.com/traveltripinformation/fiji2007.html

The really cool part is you can click to go full screen and the quality is not bad!:D

I was pretty bummed Stage6 shut down.....they were buggy though, real slow to respond to tech support, you had to download their viewer, but the results were comparatively spectacular.

I know! Me too! But this site has some nice features and the upload is cool it has a progress bar so you know if it stops etc! Checkout the quality on my site! The best part is you can upload 500mb for one video or as many as will fit within the 500mb and its per week!

I checked out the link, it seems like there are a lot of videos there and they are decent size as well. The search feature is kind of weak though and the videos load slow in my opinion.

Big files. But you can load 500mb! I also like the full screen feature.

Vimeo has also been my site of choice to host videos since Stage6 shut down. Eugenia Loli-Queru, one of their users, has written an excellent article on the best rendering settings for displaying high definition videos on the vimeo site. Once I re-rendered my clips to the .wmv format instead of .divx they displayed better on the site. The 500 Mb weekly upload limit restricts me to 3 or 4 videos a week but if it keeps all the copyrighted material and pornography off the site all the better. Some examples of my more recent travels are available at www.vimeo.com/oceanview.

Wow, nice video, editing, music selection and everything in general. This is some of the cleanest underwater video I have seen. Time to think about going pro my friend.

We're trying to make it so you can view Vimeo vids here inline, but we're not having much luck.

An older video I shot in 2005 in Roatan, a lot of video, but if your planning on going you certainly get a feel for the diving! The Eagle Wreck and the Shark Dive are on this video:

Hmmnn? Brings up the player but the video doesn't play. Need help here.

O.K. Got it. You need to double click the video player screen to get the video to play. And double clicking the icons that show up at the end connects you to the vimeo site and those videos as well. Very nice Dave, a great addition to ScubaMagazine.net. Well done.

Thanks David,

We've been trying really hard for 2 months to get to this point and the execution is better than what we hoped for.

We still need to tweak it a tad, as we want to enlarge the viewer, but there are so many new features with our latest major series of forum upgrades along with custom code additions we have our learning curve work cut out for us.

I personally think the video title should be underneath the video, not to the right.

Dave,
Can you adjust the settings for the player so that the clips are not downloadable? Since HD gets turned off the video quality does not display as well when viewed in full screen and my preference would be to not have "watered down" copies made available.

The settings are already set so a direct download link is not shown/ The text link to the right of the thumbnail just opens the viewer just like clicking on the thumbnail. I can't download them in any browser.....all I can get them to do is embed/stream.

I do want to change the viewer size....but that has proven to be buggy. We're still working on the coding and in the next few days hope to have some minor big fixes.
