I wanted to know how you can charge the i-pod while downloading pictures. I have large cards and the "juice" goes low really fast. The connection for my camera fits into the bottom input slot. There just has to be a way to keep it powered during the download.

Allison, give me a couple of days and I will find out for you unless someone else knows off the top of their head.

Allison,

I am in the middle of checking and I see your dilema. You can charge your iPod by plugging in it's USB connector to a laptop, but if the port on the bottom is being taken by your camera, your out of luck.

What if you bought one of the USB card readers that can be had for $10 new on E-bay, and took the card out and loaded it into the card reader hooked directly to your iPod?

Allison,

I don't know what the outlet port configuration or standard is on your digital camera.

But I think what you need is an "iPod USB Y adapter" like below. One end connects via firewire to your camera, the other end attaches to your iPod, the 3rd attaches to your USB charging powersource.

I have a speaker system with Ipod Flat port ( I don't know the formal name) in the back of the speaker. When the speaker is plugged in, it powers the Ipod. I don't know if the Ipod could take the data off the camera thru there as well?

A thought?

my laptop has 4 usb ports, or down load then charge, or buy a wall outlet ipod charger
