Unfortunately unless you live in California, the chances of you seeing this movie in a theatre are somwhere between slim and none. I guess the rest of us will have to wait for the video.

True, but then again I mostly wait for the video anyway. For now, the DVD I'm enjoying is BBC's The Blue Planet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blue_Planet) (the disc I have lists episodes 1-10). I bawled in episode 1 where a pack of Orca Whales hunted a Grey-whale calf (I know its the natural order, I'm just a wuss that way). Episode 2, with its eerie deep-sea creatures, enthralled me. Will chew on the yummy rest the next several nights :)

I watched the entire Blue Planet series. I was really amazed at the quality HD video that was taken. Some things I have never seen before! You will enjoy all of the DVD's just as much as the first.

I also felt really sad when the orcas attacked the baby whale while the mother whale could do nothing to protect her baby, but as you said it is the natural order of things. Even so it still is upsetting to watch. It is something I did not know about and was great footage so at least I learned a lot from it.

Ace, what about when that male angler thats a 10th of the size of the female attaches itself to her and gets fused so that her blood ends up nourishing him while he provides her a lifetime supply of sperm. A quid pro quo arrangement thats evolved with the deep not being exactly a dating hotspot. The look of him as suddenly being nothin more than a pale appendage scared me!

That was very weird, indeed.

OK, we saw SharkWater this past weekend.

I would say this is a MUST SEE for all of us and anyone we can bring with us. The movie was free of charge, and about 1.5 hours long. There is some amazing dive footage and a story that we all need to hear.

go to www.sharkwater.com/ and check out the show times near you. They are playing outside the US as well! They are a little slow updating the show times, but check back every few weeks for an update.

That type of male angler is called a gigolofish that can produce a unique acoustic cacophony with a repetitive, percussive signature that sounds similar to the sounds of the group Blondie.
